The summer afternoon rain is coming to an end and it’s time to sit and enjoy the China Pavilion from its often overlooked garden path. Relax as you’re surrounded with the ambient sounds of the Pavilion’s thematic music, birds, and guests making their way to the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. Reflections of the sky ripple on the delicate surface of the lotus pond while drops of water collect and run off lily pads.
These gardens were inspired by those in Suzhou, a large city located adjacent to Shanghai. It is said that these gardens represent the development of Chinese landscape garden design over more than two thousand years and are regarded as the most refined form of garden art. This quiet moment of joy has been carefully created and sustained for you by Walt Disney Imagineers and cast members. I hope your time with it brings you the same sense of peace I felt in the space and I invite you to visit in person and enjoy this restorative setting for yourself.
