My “discovery” of this location dates back 2012 when I participated in the Magic Kingdom’s 24 hour Leap Day event. Much earlier in the morning, I had joined the throng of guests who, like me, awoke early in excited anticipation of a pre-sunrise entry to the Magic Kingdom. Later in the day, I took a quick trip to the Contemporary Resort in search of sunblock and food. It was during this visit that I happened upon a remarkably vacant outside sitting area, just off the north end of the Grand Canyon Concourse. I enjoyed the view so much that I’ve come back to it often since. I am please to be able to provide you with a similar view, albeit from a slightly improved vantage point. Monorails come and go, as do guests, cast members, and vehicles. It’s a busy but enjoyable space, full of sights and sounds in all directions. Just be sure to head inside before that approaching storm arrives.
This moment was recorded in 5K 3D 180 degree video and is best enjoyed with a virtual reality headset. However, it can also be enjoyed from your computer browser or phone, using your finger to pan or moving your physical position for an augmented reality effect. Use headphones to more fully immerse yourself in 3D sound.
