As the story goes, the young Austrian artist, Frederich Alonzo Gustaf, wasted no time in setting up his painting supplies when he arrived at Silver Creek Springs. Gustaf was anxious to capture the beauty of the place, which had been recently discovered by Colonel Ezekiel Moreland during his western travels in 1822. Gustav chose the best vantage point he could find, despite the warning of Colonel Moreland to choose a less precarious location for his work. While the foolhardy choice of Gustav nearly cost him his art supplies (not to mention his life!), we’ve managed to capture the beauty of this place for you, albeit from a less endangered position.
I hope you enjoy this moment with Fire Rock Geyser at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
